YATE Zombie First Target is a lightweight archery target designed primarily for beginners and practice with lower draw-weight bows.

Its foam filling is enclosed in a cardboard outer covering with a different printed design on each side. One side features an entertaining zombie design, while the opposite side displays a standard multicoloured competition-style target.

The two different sides allow the target to be used for both entertaining recreational shooting and traditional accuracy practice.

The target does not replace a safety net, earth bank or other suitable backstop behind the shooting area.

Before shooting, make sure that no people, animals or vulnerable property are in front of, beside or behind the target.

Inspection before shooting

Before every shooting session, inspect:

• the cardboard outer covering,
• the foam filling,
• the shooting surfaces,
• target stability,
• the safety area behind the target,
• all arrows being used,
• whether arrows are beginning to pass through the target.

If arrows begin to pass through or penetrate unusually deeply, stop using the affected shooting surface.

Removing arrows

Remove arrows gradually and pull them in line with their shafts.

When removing an arrow:

• do not bend it excessively,
• do not pull it sharply sideways,
• do not twist it in a way that could cause damage,
• do not pull it by the fletching or nock.

Inspect every arrow after removal. Never use a cracked, bent, splintered or otherwise damaged arrow.

Care and storage

After shooting, remove dirt and any loose material from the target.

Store the target:

• in a dry location,
• away from rain and snow,
• away from prolonged moisture,
• away from open flames,
• away from high temperatures,
• without loads that could damage the cardboard covering.

If the target has been exposed to moisture, allow it to dry naturally before storage.
