Lazecký FILIP 41″ – Kids Bows for Beginner Archers
Lazecký FILIP 41″ is a family of lightweight children's bows made in the Czech Republic and designed primarily for young archers learning the fundamentals of archery.
The FILIP range includes several different configurations, allowing parents, clubs and archery schools to choose a bow according to the child's shooting orientation and preferred riser design.
Instead of offering every configuration as a completely separate product, our FILIP listing brings the main versions together in one place.
FILIP Uni
FILIP Uni is the universal version of the children's FILIP bow.
It is designed for use by both right- and left-handed archers, making it a practical choice when the bow may be shared between children or when the child's preferred shooting orientation has not yet been established.
FILIP Uni Extra
FILIP Uni Extra is also universal for right- and left-handed archers, but its main difference is the double-sided contoured riser for arrow guidance.
This allows the arrow to be guided on either side of the bow without requiring a separate arrow rest.
The manufacturer currently offers this version at 41″ and 11 lb and recommends it for children approximately 5–9 years old.
FILIP Z
FILIP Z uses a contoured riser designed for arrow guidance, but unlike the universal versions it is selected as a dedicated right-handed or left-handed bow.
This makes it suitable for children whose preferred shooting orientation is already known.
The letter Z identifies the version with a shaped arrow-guiding riser.
FILIP Z Colour
FILIP Z Colour combines the contoured Z-style riser with coloured ash wood.
The current 41″ version is available in:
- Right-handed
- Left-handed
- Red
- Blue
- 11 lb
Lazecký currently recommends this version for children approximately 4–7 years old.
11 lb draw weight
The FILIP versions offered in our current product configuration use a draw weight of 11 lb.
A children's bow should allow the young archer to draw smoothly and under control. The child should not need to lean backwards, raise the shoulders excessively or struggle to hold the bow at full draw.
For this reason, age should never be the only criterion when choosing a bow.
Lightweight 41″ construction
The FILIP bows in this product are approximately 41″ / 105 cm long.
The documented 41″ FILIP versions weigh approximately 280 g, keeping the bow light enough for young archers to concentrate on stance, bow control and basic shooting technique.
Ash wood and fiberglass
FILIP bows use selected ash wood in their construction.
The limbs combine ash wood with fiberglass in a laminated sandwich construction. This creates a functional children's archery bow rather than a simple toy.
A polyester bowstring is supplied with the bow.
Recommended arrows
For the 41″ FILIP models, Lazecký recommends short wooden arrows approximately 600 mm long, fitted with natural feather fletching and a self nock.
The manufacturer lists approximately 23″ / 600 mm as the maximum recommended arrow length for the documented 41″ versions.
The arrow must always be sufficiently long for the child's actual draw length.
Which FILIP version should you choose?
Choose FILIP Uni when you want a simple universal bow that can be used by both right- and left-handed children.
Choose FILIP Uni Extra when you want universal orientation combined with a double-sided contoured riser for improved arrow guidance.
Choose FILIP Z when the child's shooting orientation is already known and you want a dedicated right- or left-handed bow with a contoured riser.
Choose FILIP Z Colour when you want the same right- or left-handed concept with a choice of red or blue styling.
